Refreshers v Castle Rising CC

A good win to start the season. Refreshers 246-5 (R Saunders 89; C Bell 44; S Thompson 36 no). Castle Rising 187 all out (P Hudson 93, D Williams 3-29; J Maynard 3-9). Refreshers won by 59 runs.

S Thompson was at Cambridge with David A and Chris Bell and is a pretty useful bat / keeper. D Williams is a mate of John Maynard (“the dentist”) and Owen Roach, and is pretty much the quickest thing we have ever seen on a field on which we have been playing. We had to take him off after 3 overs or they would have been all out in 10 overs.

Jason Gallian said he was going to recommend that Essex take a look at him!
