A wonderful afternoon at Holkhan Hall culminated in a scintillating tie, both sides posting 238 off their 40 overs. Richard Saunders (66) and Anu Mohindru (53) led the charge with able assistance from Jonathan Cohen, Abi Mohindru and Joe Cannon as we reached our 238 for 7 down. two to win from the last 3 balls. Saunders beat the bat twice in a row and they could only scramble a single off the last – tight work from the Refreshers!

Titchwell Manor accommodated us handsomely, and on Sunday the oldest Refreshers team ever assembled played a 20/20 in front of Salle Hall against Adney Payne’s Nocturnes. Batting first on a sticky track we made 107, largely thanks (once again) to the Mohindru brothers. Again our opening bowlers (Cayford and Vijay today) restricted the scoring initially but the spinners once more came in for some tap and the Nocturnes were left requiring 8 from the last over – they managed just 4 and we repaired to the Bell at Cawston for a welcome pint and sea food salad.
