Refreshers Dinner 2016

 In Uncategorized

Hugely successful dinner at the Garrick Club this year, with a positive and optimistic atmosphere pervading proceedings. Guests included HHJ Nigel Peters QC (MCC committee member) who spoke interestingly about corruption in sport with reference to some of the more high profile recent cases (inc Westfield and its implications), and former England cricketer Jason Gallian, who entertained us with an excellent Q&A session in conjunction with Anu Mohindru (himself a former England U19 player). Tim Kent shared some anecdotes from a long and colourful career at the MIB and Philip Cayford compered. The de Lotbiniere Cup was won by Sam Burritt for an outstanding century at Sheffield Park, the overall contribution Founder’s Cup went to Tom and Judith Dumont and the Philip Evelegh Cup for the best guest went to Miles Ritchie for his 6-40 on the Dorset tour. Thanks as always to the Garrick Club and its excellent staff who looked after us impeccably, contributing much to an outstanding evening.
